Public Health News from Undergraduate Alumni Association

【Public Health & Our Community】

Dear alumni and friends,

The World Health Organization (WHO) has annually commemorated World Tuberculosis (TB) Day on 24th March to raise public awareness on the global TB epidemic. WHO estimates that every day there have been nearly 30,000 people infected by TB globally, and leading to more than 4,000 deaths. As a highly developed region, nearly 3,700 TB cases were also recorded in Hong Kong according to the Centre of Health Protection in the year of 2020.

The theme of World TB Day 2021 is “The Clock is Ticking”, highlighting the urgent need to end the TB epidemic, especially when the global efforts have been seriously affected by COVID-19 pandemic. The Alumni Association invites every one of you to concern the issue and participate in the efforts to end the TB epidemic. For the details of World TB Day, please refer to the campaign webpage of WHO:

Best regards,
